The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jun 15, 2016, sent to the company Jun 23, 2016, published by CPSC Jul 15, 2016

The product, in the report: Ace detergent also known as Tide. It is being sold under different names.

Ace detergent - used as intended to wash clothing. This product is produced by Procter and Gamble. This caused severe inflammation and nerve irritation. The safety data sheet is listed on the company’s website at

    http://www.pgproductsafety.com/productsafety/sds/SDS_2015/TIDE_ORIGINAL__ACE_ORIGNAL_powder.pdf

It says it contains sulfuric acid and is a skin irritant. The MSDS also says fumes should not be inhaled. It says personal protective equipment should be used. It says do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. The MSDS says the container should be tightly closed in a cool and well ventilated place. The product was sold in a plastic bag with no measuring device to measure the product and no way to reseal the bag after it is opened. The MSDS also says it contains silicic acid. It says for prolonged use gloves should be worn. The MSDS says it contains sodium hydroxide which is regulated as a hazardous substance under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act and a regulated pollutant pursuant to the Clean Water Act. Why are these components not listed in the ‘ingredients’ on the Procter and Gamble website?

The “ingredients” of this toxic product are on the company’s website at

    http://www.pgproductsafety.com/productsafety/ingredients/household_care/laundary_fabric_care/Ace/Ultra_Ace_Powder_Detergent.pdf

It says it contains oxygen bleach (sodium percarbonate), bleach activator (nonanoyloxybenzenesulfonate and B62 agglomerate).

Why are these toxic chemicals not listed on the packaging? Why does the packaging have no warning that the product is a skin irritant? The MSDS states to never return spills to original container for reuse. Why is the product being sold in a bag that is not resealable and can spill very easily? Why is no measuring device included in the packaging? The product is toxic so why would the instructions give measurements by the cup (a unit of measurement to measure food) instead of by the cap? Why is it being sold under different names?

The product is very dangerous. Procter and Gamble have their own poison control center staffed with health care professionals on call around the clock.
