How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 21, 2026, sent to the company Jun 26, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 13, 2026

The product, in the report: Product: 2-in-1 Floating Pool Care System with Chlorine Tablet Cartridges (2 lbs), ASIN B0GPWB6CMQ Brand/Seller: SOPUR LLC (Amazon seller ID A3I1XJXWU0T4B0)

Product: 2-in-1 Floating Pool Care System with Chlorine Tablet Cartridges (2 lbs), ASIN B0GPWB6CMQ Brand/Seller: SOPUR LLC ([REDACTED])

Incident description: I purchased this floating chlorinator on Amazon for use in my above-ground pool. When I placed the product in the pool water, it caused a series of small explosions, and the lid was blown off the chlorine cartridge container. I have video documentation of this incident. No Injuries thankfully.

I attempted to locate manufacturer/seller contact information from the product paperwork to report the defect, but found no reliable way to reach them.

After this incident, I discovered the product listing has been removed from Amazon and is no longer searchable.

I also located a one-star seller review on the SOPUR LLC Amazon storefront ([REDACTED]), dated June 9, 2026, from a reviewer identified as “Lady from Lincoln,” describing a nearly identical incident: the product “blew up” while in use in a pool, with chemicals landing on the pool deck and on the people present. That reviewer also reported that the seller’s contact email on the product paperwork was undeliverable.

This appears to be a recurring safety defect with this product, not an isolated incident.

Other information: Video evidence available upon request/upload. Screenshots of seller feedback page available.

Want me to adjust anything add specifics about your incident (timing, what was in the pool, any injuries) before you submit it?

Ok, give me the URL or whatever I need to contact CPSC or the form you mention.

A few things to know before you start:

You’ll need to create a free account or report as a guest, depending on the current flow. It’ll ask for: product identification (name, brand, model/ASIN, where purchased), incident description, date of incident, whether anyone was injured, and lets you upload photos/video directly. It also asks for your contact info that’s kept confidential from the public database but CPSC may follow up with you directly. After submission, manufacturers are typically given an opportunity to respond before anything becomes public on SaferProducts.gov, per CPSC’s standard process. When you get there, drop in the draft text I gave you, attach your video and the seller-feedback screenshot, and fill in the personal details (your name, contact info, incident date/time) yourself.
