The product, in the report: Instant Krazy Glue All Purpose
I began using Krazy Glue to construct a complicated model after the “technical expert” on the product information line explained that the glue cannot harm skin. The glue contacted my hands as I was using it and it wrinkled my skin. My skin also turned bright red in certain places and it feels drier now. I saw numerous doctors for treatment, but there seems to be no cure for the skin wrinkling, residual redness, and dryness. The damage is permanent. I have contacted the company many times since the incident occurred. Unfortunately, the company only seems interested in making false claims of dermatological safety, giving me the run around, or ignoring me. Even after sending detailed information about the problem and the dangers of the product, the company only shows disdain for the consumer and does not show any concern for customer health or safety in this matter.
My own analysis of this product leads me to believe the skin dangers of this product are mostly related to high strength contraction upon curing and possibly uneven curing. These factors may be the primary causes of the dangers of this product previously mentioned.
Elmer’s has acted unethically in this matter by deceiving me about the safety of the product, misrepresenting expertise on the product, and not taking an interest in health or safety regarding this matter. This unethical conduct reflects poorly on Elmer’s Products Inc. and also its parent company, the Berwind Corporation.
