The product, in the report: An adhesive marked as B 7000 produced by Guangdong ZHANLIDA New Material Co., Ltd.

It has come to our attention that a non-compliant solvent-based adhesive has been making its way into the United States via Hobby Lobby kits. The adhesive in question is marketed as B 7000 produced by Guangdong ZHANLIDA New Material Co., Ltd. This product is wholly out of compliance with FHSA and CPSC labeling requirements for consumer adhesives. In addition to failing to adhere to federal consumer regulations, B 7000 is also non-compliant with California prop 65 and California Air Resources Board VOC regulations. Furthermore, this product is classified by the producer as a flammable liquid. As such, this product should carry the appropriate pictograms and hazard statements on both the tube and the card. However, this material lacks the necessary packaging and regulated verbiage on the tube and card backs.

Purchased a craft adhesive from Amazon called B-7000 that was marketed in the add as non-toxic. Upon opening the tube the product has a strong solvent odor. Spent time searching for a Safety Data Sheet, but was unable to locate one for the product. However, found a safety Gate Alert from the EU indicating that a B-7000 product with similar packaging was recalled for containing 31.3% by weight toluene.

    [REDACTED]

There are various versions of this product on Amazon with many of them listed as non-toxic and even recommended for use in schools. It’s very concerning that this is marketed as a safe product to consumers.
