  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Oct 6, 2020, sent to the company Nov 4, 2020, published by CPSC Nov 19, 2020

The product, in the report: WEN 7-INCH POLISHER adjustable speed from 1,000 to 3,500 RPM Model 94810 UPC 0 44459 94810 0

Adjustable speed polisher went from 1,500 rpm to 3,500 without touching speed control. Unable to slow it down with control button, had to turn off. Started back up and instead of being at 00 it started at full speed. Backer disc fractured and threw off a chunk of plastic (no one injured, but could have been if it went in another direction) I returned it and the replacement has done the exact sme thing. Both had a manufacture date of 6/2019. I have contacted the manufacturer but they state it could be 5 business days before they get back to me. This product is dangerous and could cause serious injury. WEN 7-INCH POLISHER MODEL 94810; original one had a S/N 118589-00746 06/2019; replacement S/N 118589-00942 06/2019 First one recieved 09/16/2020 from Amazon, replacement received 09/29/2020

The product, in the report: This product has been used maybe in 10 times total. I was trying to sharpen knife finished one side was going to sharpen the other side when all the side i heard large noise and got disoriented. My wife went down to basement because she heard the noise asking to what happened and i was in shock then realized that the unit was across the room from me, with knife on the floor. I have checked to make sure i am alright and did not find any injuries. Then walked over the the product and noticed stone chipped off which caused the device to jam at 4000 RPMs what caused the device to get airborne. I was very lucky that i did not get injured.

I have been using Wen 4276 which i’ve purchased on Amazon.com in December 20 2016 when the stone inside broke while i was sharpening the knife. The incident happened in the instance with laud noise and next i’ve noticed device was flying across the room and ended up on the floor. I was very lucky to not been seriously injured but i think somebody should investigate this product because somebody else gets hurt.
