The product, in the report: Porter Cable 4 1/2” grinder, model: PCEG011.
I purchased the Porter Cable 4 1/2” grinder, model: PCEG011 on 12-3-20, used it a on some things and it was ok at first. Then the other day i was using it to grind off an old pipe, and it got jammed, and I tried to make it stop using the switch, but it wouldn’t slide back and turn OFF. I had to rip the cord out of the wall socket. I had to finish this project, so I then had someone stand there to unplug it when needed, as I couldn’t turn it off with switch again. I’m returning it to Tractor Supply, where I bought it. I’ve always liked Porter Cable products for their durability, but this grinder with this SLIDE SWITCH should be recalled and taken off the market. I could have been seriously injuried if I hadn’t been able to rip the cord from the wall socket. I wish I had gotten the next model up: PC60TPAG, with the regular trigger switch. It’s safer and turns off when you release it. I’m reporting this to the Consumer Safety Products Commission. Sincerely, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Porter Cable PXRA2676KIT Multi Surface Restoration Tool
Bought a Porter Cable PXRA2676KIT Multi Surface Restoration Tool Kit. Upon using it it started to make grinding noises. Then sparks flew out where the sanding drum is then hot metal parts flew out. Luckily I was wearing safety glasses. I was able to save one of the pieces that flew out. The other one is lost in the yard. I am trying to contact Porter Cable buy so far have only been put on hold. The part appears to be part of the main housing, is metal and was ripped out of the plastic housing by the action of the sander. The parts that came out are a piece of metal rod approximately 1/4 in diameter by 3/8 inch long.
