The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Oct 24, 2017, sent to the company Nov 1, 2017, published by CPSC Nov 16, 2017

The product, in the report: Troy-Bilt Pressure Washer with Briggs & Stratton Engne 850EX

I have a Troy-Bilt Pressure Washer with a Briggs & Stratton 850EX engine. The muffler is covered with a thin tinlike metal. It’s edges are very sharp and unfinished. To get to the spark plug to remove the spark plug wire you are in contact with the cover. I attempted to remove the spark plug wire and was cut in my right finger about 1/2 inch. The fact that the sharp cover is so close to the spark plug approach is not safe and the cover should be modified to make it safe.

The product, in the report: Troy-Bilt 2800-PSI 2.3-GPM Carb Compliant Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer Item # 516782 Model # 020568

I purchased the Troy-Bilt 2800-PSI 2.3-GPM Carb Compliant Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer Model # 020568 at Lowes. The design of the pressure washer is such that the water and spray hose attachments are in the front of the unit. I burned myself 3 times today on the engine, and exhaust just trying to unhook the hoses. This is unsafe and a guard should be put on the front part of the unit
