How badly anyone was hurt

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Gas powered pressure washer

Problem description: I own a gas pressure washer model 580.767300 Serial Number 7382202. This has been used for light work around my home. The fuel tank began leaking around the seams once before - I contacted Sears - they said there was nothing they would do - so I purchased a new fuel tank from Sears - price was approximatly $68.66. Now the fuel tank has failed again - new tank failed exactly the same way. This product is unsafe - it is defective. I looked on the internet and many people are having the same issue. The part number of the tank on various sources shows it has changed from 694260 to 79986.

The product, in the report: Power washer model 580.752200

I own a Sears Power washer model number 580.752200. While using this product to power wash our deck the protective sleeve that surround the power washer nozzle flew off hitting the glass patio door. This is the second high pressure nozzle that has failed during use. The nozzles I have had issues with are labeled “general” purpose and “max”. I contacted Sears, both at the Appleton, WI store and through the internet, and they will not recognize the product as defective and will not replace the units. I feel this product is defective because it could fly off hitting somebody in the face or worse, in the eye.

Thank you in advance for investigating my issue.
