My husband was trying to use our greenworks pressure washer model # GPW1803, serial number GWY2630914. The hose acted clogged and when he tried to undo the sprayer attachment, it exploded and hit his eye. The water hose wasnt even on for a full minute when he turned the hose off to check the sprayer attachment. My husband lost his vision in his right eye for over an hour completely! We immediately went to the emergency room when this happened. He was diagnosed with an abrasion on the bottom part of his eye ball, and thankfully after a CT scan, his retina is fine. Thankfully, he regained being able to see some shapes but still very blurry vision the next day. Now we have to emergency follow up with his eye doctor.

I attempted to press the trigger and no water sprayed out. Then the hose shot off of the spray gun and left a deep laceration in my foot and bruises/welts on my inner thighs. I bought a Greenworks power washer. Purchased on Sept 28, 2019 and used a couple times after that date. In late April/early May 2020 I used again and the handle/gun came off while I was using it and hit me in the arm hard leaving a huge black and blue mark almost immediately. I contacted Greenworks right away (which was not easy to do during Covid). I wasn’t too concerned about the arm, but needed to report it to them as what if that were my face or head. They sent me 2 placement handles/guns but neither fit the unit I have. I since have learned there is a recall, but have not seen there is a recall on my particular model. They were made aware of this and I have emails to back all this up. Mine is a GPW1703 1700PSI Pressure Washer S/N GWX0930107 04/03/18

My Greenworks Pro 2300 Pressure Washer GPW2300 blew apart on die cast aluminum piece on the output of the pressure water side. The nozzle that attaches to the pressure hose flew the length of the pressure hose I was holding and ‘tugged’ on me while I was holding it. Three other metal pieces where blown off the pressure washer when this occurred. The pressure washer is less than a year old and had been used less than 30 hours of use.

The washer kept tripping my breaker and I couldn’t figure out why. Then after a couple times of tripping breaker I went to washer and touched it and it was very hot. I was using the pressure washer for only the second time when the male threads of the gun split apart on the mold seam just above where the hose attaches and it blew a high pressure water stream right at my face. Fortunately I had no injury but it could have been worse as it caused me to fall down. If this had happened 10 minutes sooner while I was on the garage roof the results could have been much different.
The electric pressure washer I was using is a Greenworks 1600PSI / 1.3GPM Model 51152 Purchased in March of 2013 from our local Lowes Hardware.
