The product, in the report: Pressure washer, electric
I got up this morning 7/12/11 and heard someting running in the attached garage. It was my Dirt Devil Pressure Washer, model is a Pressure Flex 2000. The unit was plugged in, no water hose attached, and was running. I unplugged it and it quit. It was turned on but the unit shuts off when the wand lever is not depressed so I did not know it was turned on but not running. It was running hot, lightly smoking with a burnt rubber smell, and leaking blackish oil on the floor ( about 2 or 3 Tablespoons worth, a spot a good foot around) I will take pictures. I think this was close to catching fire. I just read the 6 pages of warnings and instructions in the manual and it says nothing about turning it off when the hose in not attached. This is the first time I have used it and left it plugged in. I have had it about 3 months. It was bought from Menards. I have not turned it of or moved it yet.
