Hospital admission Made Aug 6, 2013, sent to the company Aug 14, 2013, published by CPSC Aug 28, 2013
The product, in the report: 72” x 96” cargo net with 28 nylon hooks (bungee); Purchased another net from the same company that sold the original net, was assured that the same net was being purchased. Received a black, bungee cargo net with 28 yellow, nylon hooks in a clear cello bag with a cardboard flap over the top and a hole in the center of the cardboard flap for hanging on a display hook. There were no instructions or labels on the net. The original net was green with black hooks. Photos are attached.
Client was helping to secure patio furniture together, with three other people, in anticipation of a storm. The homeowner took a 28 hook, bungee cargo net out of its original packaging, and the other three people (one being my client) helped to stretch the net over the furniture grouping. Client was hit in the eye with one of the nylon hooks when it released from where it had been placed on the patio furniture. Client was taken to an Emergency Room for treatment and underwent eye surgery . Client suffered total vision loss in the eye.
