The product, in the report: ZYNEX medical TENS Unit. Supplies come with ZYNEX Batteries
Hello, My wife uses a TENS unit made by ZYNEX. It comes with nine volt batteries with their brand on them that they supply. A few months ago she was watching TV when she heard a large popping sound and something hit the wall right by her head. She was quite scared and it took her a while to figure out what happened. An unopened two pack of ZYNEX batteries were sitting on a shelf across the room. One of the NEW batteries exploded sending pieces right past my wife and striking the wall. They were not in sunlight or any place hot, they just exploded. We thought that this was just some kind of fluke, but we disposed of any other Zynex batteries we had.
Last week, my wife heard another nerve shattering explosion. She had forgotten that she had put one of the ZYNEX batteries in a smoke detector. That battery exploded and shot a hole through the smoke detector. I have a photo of the broken smoke detector. I think they need to warn their customers about these batteries.
