  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 17, 2026, sent to the company Sep 22, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 6, 2026

The product, in the report: This was a rechargeable lithium ion battery that was from a Vistefly V15 Pro Max cordless vacuum.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a rechargeable battery supplied with a Vistefly V15 Pro Max cordless vacuum caught fire inside my home while it was charging. The battery was connected to the charger that came with the vacuum, and the charger was plugged into a wall outlet. We used the vacuum almost every day. I did not observe or report any modification to the battery, vacuum, or charger before the incident. My daughters, ages 11 and 5, were sitting at the dinner table near the charging area. They called to me that there was smoke, and my older daughter then yelled that there was a fire. I immediately told both children to leave the area and the cords, battery, and other things close to the fire were thrown outside onto a concrete deck and I used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. We were preparing to leave for a [REDACTED] karate class, so if we had already left, the fire could have continued unnoticed with our pets inside the home. The fire and resulting smoke or heat damaged another [REDACTED] handheld vacuum, a pair of shoes, and a wooden dog bowl holder. The house had a strong, unpleasant odor and fumes after the battery fire, and fire-extinguisher residue covered the immediate area on the deck. No one sustained a reported physical injury, but the event created an immediate risk of burns, smoke exposure, serious injury, death, and a larger residential fire. The burned battery was moved outside and placed in a bucket of cold water to help cool down the lithium ion battery. I retained the charger supplied with the vacuum. I contacted Amazon on September 16, 2026, identified the product, seller, purchase date, and order number, and explained that the battery had caught fire while charging and caused collateral damage. Amazon stated that the item issue was escalated and that an A-to-Z Guarantee refund request for $139.09 had been submitted. I am reporting this incident so the product and battery can be investigated and other consumers can be warned if a broader hazard exists.
