The product, in the report: 9Cell 7800mAh Battery for [REDACTED]
I installed a Li-Ion battery purchased from ebay user “[REDACTED]”, Shenzhen Uni-Sun Electronics Co., Ltd. in my [REDACTED] laptop.
The battery was initially at zero charge when bought and this increased to only 6% after about 12 hours. About 6 hours later, the battery exploded, starting 3 fires in my bedroom and melting parts of the carpet. If nobody had been home, I expect the whole house would have been burned down.
There is nothing wrong with the charger or the laptop. The laptop is still usable, even after being bent and blown 5 feet away by the explosion.
