The product, in the report: Black power bank with the identifier “TG90” impressed on the surface. Appears to be the rough width of a credit card. Unit has appendages on the left and right sides which look like flexible cables (male end) for charging a device. There is a standard wall outlet plug on the back of the unit.
TG90 power bank was being charged via external cable and power adapter. Residents heard a bang/explosion noise and then saw flames coming from the power bank. Residents extinguished the unit with a household fire extinguisher prior to calling 911. One half of the unit was damaged beyond recognition and the other half bares the marking “TG90”. Owner of the power bank reports the cable that they were using may not have been the original charging cable for the device. Unit caused damage to household belongings and three persons were evaluated for exposure to products of combustion.
