The product, in the report: Hearing Aid Batteries - all brands
The new hearing aid packaging requires heavy duty scissors and multiple cuts into very sharp, hard plastic. This resulted in deep cut on hand and either opening the batteries prior to needing them because people do not carry heavy duty scissors when they leave the house. This results in loose batteries that children could easily access and, thus, presents a bigger danger. It also puts the elderly at risk for deep cuts - or facing the scenario where batteries cannot be retrieved. The design is a hazard - and batteries should be able to be purchased with packaging that is easier to open for those who do not have children in the house. The packaging should also be able to be used to store used batteries safely.
