No one hurt Made Nov 30, 2011, sent to the company Dec 8, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 22, 2011
The product, in the report: 9volt battery Brand: Discount Drug Mart Date: 08-2016 Markings: 6LF22 9-Volt
9volt battery popped (blew apart case) Brand: Discount Drug Mart Date: 08-2016 Markings: 6LF22 9-Volt
Battery was not in use - fairly new spare (under 6 months old), in desk caddy and at room temperature. Popped loudly, suddenly and without warning. Blew the top off and ejected one internal cell more than halfway. I took pictures and have the battery.
Just happened - haven’t contacted manufacturer yet. I plan to find and replace other batteries of same type (smoke detectors, I think).
