The product, in the report: Craftsman 9.2 Volt Drill Battery
The consumer wanted to express his concerns about his 9.2 volt battery drill as the consumer was working on a job and his battery was very hot. The consumer was operating the drill for a short time after he was inserting 6 screws (one minute elapsed time) before the consumer noticed that the battery began to make a gargling noise.
The consumer took the battery out of the tool and allowed the battery to cool down. The consumer found that the product smoked for nearly 3 minutes. The consumer was not harmed or injured by the product and did not cause any property damage. The consumer placed another battery in the drill and the battery seems to be working fine with the drill.
The consumer did not call the fire department about the issue. The consumer reported that there was no further property damage. The consumer called the retailer and the firm today; both seemed as if they were not concerned and referred him to a service center, while the firm explained that there was nothing more that can be done for him. The consumer has not had any problems with the battery prior.
