The product, in the report: Replacement laptop battery for a [REDACTED] laptop, purchased from Amazon. The battery caught fire during normal use, burning a wooden dinner table and destroying the laptop.
CQCQ brand laptop battery, purchased on Amazon ([REDACTED]), used with a [REDACTED] laptop.
While using my laptop during normal operation, the battery began emitting smoke, followed by sparks and fire. The fire spread to and burned my wooden dinner table, damaging both the table and the table cover. My [REDACTED] laptop was destroyed in the fire, and all data stored on it, including business and school files, was lost with no backup available. I had owned and used this battery for close to two years as a light user prior to the incident. There were no signs of misuse, physical damage, or prior warning before the smoke began.
No personal injury occurred, but there was direct risk of injury given the presence of open flame indoors.
Property Damage Wooden dinner table (burned), table cover (burned), [REDACTED] laptop (destroyed by fire).
