The product, in the report: Original HP battery for Compaq Presario laptop computer C700, No. 6291904BJV7DLF. SPS 454931-001
I received notice from HP that some batteries from my Compaq Presario 700 laptop computer series were recalled. My battery was not listed, but it has long exhibited the same symptom of excessive overheating. It reaches a temperature where you cannot touch it with your hand and I’ve had to be very careful not to burn myself if I ever hold the computer in my lap. I have always believed that this battery should be recalled, but I did not know that I could report it to your agency. I am sure that many other owners have the same misconception and would report it if they knew that this was possible. My battery’s code number is 6291904BJV7DLF.
