No incident, no one hurt Made Feb 9, 2023, sent to the company Mar 1, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 15, 2023
The product, in the report: Bosch Powertube 625. $944.50 available everywhere online.
Less than 2 year old Bosch $1000 ebike battery Powertube 625 with less than 100 cycles failed to power bike with error code 605 and failed to charge with lights 1, 3 and 5 flashing. This is a temperature error code. The battery had been sitting inside in ambient 68F. I tried the reset options and noticed that it was getting warm without being plugged in to anything. I disassembled to disconnect the battery management system because it was overheating and I didn’t want it to burn my house down (no safe place to store it outside away from structures). Evidence of overheated components on the battery management circuits. The battery cells tested ok. The pack tested ok at 36.2 volts. No injuries because I took prompt action. Bosch refuses to cover the warranty.
