  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 12, 2022, sent to the company Mar 1, 2022, published by CPSC Mar 15, 2022

The product, in the report: AC200 MAX is a power station. Power stations store power for emergency or recreational use such as camping, fishing hunting etc.

On Aug. 20, 2021 I made an online order of a product called the AC200MAX which is referred to as a Power Station. Power stations store power for emergency use or recreational activities such as camping. The AC200MAX stores approx 2,200 watts of power and is a product of Bluetti The retail price of the AC200MAX is $2,099.00 and I purchased it at an online introductory offer of $1,699.00

After owning the product for several weeks, a [REDACTED] video I was watching titled “Bluetti’s AC200Max Polarity Issue - How to check if you are affected” web address ([REDACTED]) alerted me to the fact that the AC200MAX units had a Reverse Polarity issue. With an Ohmmeter I checked and found that my AC200MAX had was wired with Reverse Polarity.

I contacted Bluetti’ via phone at their office in Las Vegas and through email correspondence with no satisfaction whatsoever. I asked them for a replacement product and I was told that they could not guarantee that the replacement unit would not have the same Reverse Polarity issue.

To sum up: Bluetti’s opening online discount opening offer for the AC200MAX was for a total sale of 500 units “first come first served.” Since Bluetti products are manufactured in China my assumption is that at a minimum, there may very well be 500 of these units out there with that are wired incorrectly with Reverse Polarity which presents the very real danger of serious injury or electrocution resulting in death.

My AC200MAX still sits unused and with the Reverse Polarity wiring since it was ordered on Aug 20, 2021 and Bluetti. I have complained to the Nevada Consumer Affairs Commission (since Bluetti’s office is in Nevada and I have complained to the Arizona Attorney General’s office and thus far I have not received results from either.

I have exchanged over 40 emails with Bluetti and my AC200MAX still remains dangerous and unusable and I am absolutely sure that there are many hundreds, if not many thousands of the AC200MAX power station out there in consumer’s hands that have a lethal potential. One of my primary goals in all of this is to get Bluetti to issue a recall of said units but after many correspondences with them they are REFUSING to do so. This to me, shows a blatant disregard for the health and safety of every consumer that owns one of these units in question.

PLEASE NOTE: that I have in my possession ever correspondence with Bluetti and the preponderance of evidence that I have clearly shows that they know about this serious issue, yet, have refused to correct it by issuing a recall which is the only way to insure the health and safety of their own customers. I am more than willing to share any or all of this information with your agency upon request. I might also note that I also have emails from Bluetti stating the “management was negligent.” This statement came from a Bluetti employee in customer service and is entered in part of the record with both agencies that I have complained to. The Arizona Attorny’s General Office, by the way, has this case now in their Criminal Division from what I understand.

I will also tell you that the the attitude of Bluetti employees has been one of secrecy and arrogance across the board. I have done my own research and the only agency (as in UL) that ever examined this product was under the jurisdiction of Bluetti themselves (I could be wrong but that is the conclusion I came to) in other words, to the best of my research, the AC200MAX was never checked and tested by an independent testing company it was tested by their own “testing” operation.
