The product, in the report: Berkley Jensen 9V Alkaline Battery, 12 pk
The submitter said she had a battery sitting on her desk and last week she noticed that pieces of the battery were scattered over the desk. The submitter also noticed a powder substance near the pieces of battery. She is not sure how long the battery was on her desk for or when she purchased the pack of battery.
The submitter then checked the battery pack and noticed that another battery had exploded. She indicated that the battery was still in the wrapped and there was powder substance near the battery.
The submitter said she emailed the retailer and notified them of the incident. The submitter was told that the retailer does not make the batteries. The submitter was contacted by [REDACTED] with Sedwick, the retailers claims department.
The submitter said she has used nine of the batteries in the pack and has not had a prior incident. She also said she has purchased these batteries in the past and not had an incident.
