The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made May 19, 2026, sent to the company May 21, 2026, published by CPSC Jun 5, 2026

The product, in the report: Black Baseus battery

    To Whom It May Concern,

This letter serves as a formal demand for investigation, accountability, and compensation arising from a dangerous and defective consumer product that resulted in a residential fire and placed my child at risk of serious harm.

I purchased a Baseus 65W 30000mAh Portable Charger BS-30KP365 through Amazon in December 2024. The original unit was later subject to a recall. On January 2, 2025, I was issued a replacement unit of the same model (BS-30KP365), Serial Number: FSD240906A.

At no time prior to or following the replacement did I receive any direct recall notice, safety warning, or instruction to discontinue use of the product.

In April 2026, the replacement battery catastrophically failed, exploded, and caused a fire in my daughters bedroom. This incident created an immediate threat to her life and resulted in significant emotional distress and property damage.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice, replacement units bearing serial numbers ending in A were distributed as a remedy and represented as safe. The replacement unit I received falls within that category. Despite this, the product failed in the exact manner the recall was intended to prevent. This constitutes a failure of the recall remedy and raises serious concerns regarding ongoing product safety and recall execution.

This matter involves, but is not limited to: - Distribution of a defective and hazardous product - Failure to provide adequate recall notice and consumer warning - Failure of an official recall remedy - Negligence in product safety and consumer protection obligations

As a result, I am demanding the following:

    1. A full and documented investigation into the manufacturing, recall, and replacement process for model BS-30KP365 2. All records related to the recall, including notification timelines, internal safety findings, and replacement distribution logs 3. Preservation of all evidence and communications related to this product and my case 4. Compensation for property damage, emotional distress, and any associated costs incurred as a result of this incident 5. Written confirmation of corrective actions taken to prevent further consumer harm

Please be advised that I am in the process of reporting this incident to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and am evaluating all available legal remedies, including potential claims under product liability and consumer protection laws.

You are requested to respond to this letter within fourteen (14) days of receipt. Failure to respond or adequately address this matter may result in escalation, including formal legal action.

All future communication regarding this matter should be directed to me at the contact information listed below.

During February 2025 The Baseus product stopped working and failed to charge. It happened to my mother, who lived in India (I gave it to her, and I bought 2 others later on). One day, while driving on the highway, my mother heard a cracking sound and noticed the product had bulged. She immediately threw the battery out of the window, with the car running at freeway speed, afraid that it might explode anytime. We have no image of the product anymore. Since I no longer have the battery,

I received a notification from Amazon that this product that I had purchased was recalled. I submitted all the photos and was told mine was not eligible as it was not the correct model number. It has an “A” at the end of the number, PPCXM06A.

I used this item ONE time. The battery got SO hot it shut down my phone! Unfortunately it was past the return window on Amazon so I wasn’t able to return it. It made complete sense that this item was being recalled and after multiple submissions my claim was denied. I’m not sure why Amazon sent me the recall information as supposedly my product was not actually recalled so I would appreciate some assistance with this matter.

    Thank you!

My wife, [REDACTED], was using a Baseus Magnetic Power Bank Battery Pack, 6000mAh Wireless Portable Charger with a lightning cord connected to her [REDACTED] from the power bank. It was on the couch on top of a blanket and directly next to her head. She was laying on the couch. Without being touched, the power bank spontaneously combusted and was shooting flames, sparks, and dark colored matter from the power bank. This then spread to the blanket, lighting it on fire. I was able to run into the room, wrap the power bank in the blanket to choke the oxygen and ran the powerbank covered in the blanket outside to our patio. When I opened the blanket upon getting to the patio, the power bank exploded into pieces, blowing the cover off of the bank, and exposing twirled copper wire. The injuries sustained from the initial fire included superficial burns to my wife’s hands, a small burn on the inside of my forearm and my wife’s hair was burned on the side that was closest to the original fire. These injuries were caused by the initial fire. This product was purchased from Amazon: https://a.co/d/7JajNh9
