ISSUE: Charger does not appear to auto-shutoff when batteries are fully charged which could cause battery explosion or fire.
Purchased online via Walmart. Product comes with 4 AA batteries. Checked batteries with battery tester & as expected they were not fully charged. Plugged in the charger with batteries properly placed. Red LED lit as expected. After about 8 hours, Red LED still lit and batteries very hot. Appears the auto-shutoff did not work (at least with the included rechargeable batteries).
I tried with a different set of rechargeable batteries (from another source & in compliance with the specs on the packaging) that were fully discharged & plugged in ~12 hours overnight. In the AM same situation. Red LED still on, batteries VERY hot. Tested them and they were overcharged, __________________________________________ Contacted the seller, who contacted the manufacturer and here is their reply:

HI [REDACTED],
So this is the verdict. Xit confirmed that the light will not change colors nor turn off once the batteries are fully charged.
Moving forward, they are working on manufacturing AA batteries with a different connection so there will be notice once fully charged.
Charging time on these batteries are typically 6 hours.
I hope I have addressed your concerns, and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
