The product, in the report: Utilitech/Litesun model LA-7A-22 current tap sold by Lowes

I had a portable battery backup (designed for cell phones) plugged into the device. The cord end melted, as well as the ports on the battery backup. I assumed it was a failure of the battery backup itself, so I continued to use this product (LiteSun current tap) but shortly after, I had a new cable and a completely different device plugged into the current tap. The cable and cable end melted. Had I not been at home for these 2 occurrences, it could have led to a fire in my home.
