The product, in the report: Targus USB adapter Model No: ACH114US Model ACH114US
I tried to use a USB device this morning, plugging it into my USB adapter plugged into the PC. It wouldn’t work. I tried all four USB slots. It was then that I noticed what looked like a melted area on the adapter. So, I unplugged it and opened it up. The melted area is directly over the big chip on the circuit board. Then I suddenly remembered that I had smelled something the other day that smelled like plastic burning. I looked around the house but I never found anything. This must have been what I smelled. I would never have imagined that something like this would have overheated and this disturbs me. What if I had not been home and this thing had gotten hot enough that the plastic ignited?
