On 5/2/2017, the Appleton (WI) Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a smoke alarm sounding in a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF). Upon arrival, we located a fire burning in a second floor bedroom. Following extinguishment, fire investigators identified that the cause of the fire was a portable battery charger.
