  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Model: YMX-658. There is no brand stated on the product or eBay listing, but the specific style of “200W GAN3” also appears on another charger model I have. Those chargers also failed (within days of use, but not dangerously, as far as I can tell). The charger has 1x 100W USB-C PD port, 2x 30W USB-C PD ports, and 3x 18W USB-A QC ports. Other listings online identify the brand “Sitong” and manufacturer “Shenzhen Jiuzhou Amazon Industrial Co., LTD”. I could not find a UPC or serial number. There are numbers on a label on the box that may be a SKU (in photo). Measurements: 85 mm x 31 mm x 63 mm

I purchased 2x 200 W USB-PD chargers from eBay seller “[REDACTED]” on December 6, 2024. I received them on December 20. They worked for almost two months.

On February 18, 2025, my wife and I woke up at about 2 AM to the smell of burning plastic. We identified this charger as the cause. It had apparently burned out by the time we found it.

I had my laptop plugged into the 100W USB-C port at the time. The charger was in our bedroom. The laptop battery was fully charged, and the laptop was in S3 suspend; it draws 6 W in this state. The laptop had discharged to 94% by the time we found this problem.

Based on the charring of the PCB, I believe the charger was actually on fire, not just overheated. Fortunately, it did not catch anything else on fire.
