The product, in the report: Magnetic Wireless Power Bank with Kickstand 5000mah
Our family was enjoying a resort day by the [REDACTED] bar pool deck. We arrived there approximately 1pm. We set up camp with couple deck recliners and a big umbrella, where we stored our bags and a cooler in the umbrella shade, close to the Bar cover. This is Imeline of events to the accident: Approx 45 min before, my wife retrieved the wireless power bank from one of the bags and started charging her cellphone. My wife didnt noIce the charger baKery level but expected to be close to full charge as it had charged overnight and no abnormal temperature, smell or physical condiIon was noIced. Approx. 30 minutes before, I received a request from [REDACTED] for booking my condo. I conInued to work on my phone for a bit unIl I realized my cell was running criIcally low on baKery, below 10%. I then picked up the power bank from my wifes cell and noIced it had 1 baKery indicator lit out of 4. AWer a few minutes, I placed the phone with the power bank on top of our bag in the shade to give a liKle charging rest. This is parIcularly important as this locaIon was just adjacent to my 2 sons: About 5 inches behind my teenage son and 10 inches from my 10 month old babys head as he slept. Nothing unusual noIced. Approx. 3 min before, I picked up the phone and started to work again on [REDACTED] to approve the request. I got up from the recliner and went to bathroom, conInuing to scroll and work on the app. I was aware at this point that my cell baK level was around 6% and the power bank showed 1 blinking light which indicated it was coming to run out of power. I hoped at this moment I would have enough baKery to finish what I was doing. I entered the bathroom and proceeded to the biggest stall. I conInued to text and scroll on the cell with my leW hand as I released my shorts laces with my right, bringing it down and started to urinate. Suddenly, A huge explosion spark and bright flames, accompanied by a loud bang came from my leW side, waist level. I immediately felt a rush of heat, followed by very sharp pain in my abdomen and leW flank area, right wrist and lower crutch, leW side base of my penis. I started to immediatelyPage of 9 5 inhale a very toxic smoke and felt suocaIng. I gathered my bearings aWer couple seconds and started to leave the bathroom. AWer couple steps, I looked over my stomach which was charcoaled and in agonizing pain and I passed my hand over it, I felt skin layers being displaced. I leW the bathroom and started screaming in pain. My son noIced and came to my rescue. AWer telling him about the explosion, he headed into the bathroom and I briefly followed. The power bank was sIll on fire and smoking. He quickly put the fire out with water and leW the bathroom as the smoke was unbearable and toxic. My wife and resort personnel immediately realized the seriousness of my injuries and called 911 as I suered in the worst pain I ever felt. Resort personnel provided me with milk to try to reduce the pain as I waited for the ambulance without success. The 20 min for the ambulance arrival seemed an eternity with such high pain level and I came close to faint in despair. Once the ambulance arrived, the chief paramedic recommended immediately that we proceeded straight to the helicopter ambulance as my injuries would not be able to be treated in the local regional hospital, demanding a specialized burn unit hospital. I requested to be taken instead to the regional [REDACTED] hospital so they could stabilize my condiIon as I was sIll in unbearable pain. Once at the hospital, the ER doctor and nurse proceeded to give me morphine in a aKempt to stabilize me and concluded also I had to be transferred to a Burning unit hospital, in this case, [REDACTED]. They started to work on the transfer however the morphine did not work to alleviate my pain. I agonized with pain unIl the helicopter arrived for my transfer and only aWer being administered Dilaudid my pain eased. I was then flown to [REDACTED] and stayed hospitalized for 11 days which included 3 surgeries; 2 iniIal skin graWs and a final Auto graph.
