How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 2 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 15, 2017, sent to the company Apr 17, 2017, published by CPSC May 1, 2017

The product, in the report: Energizer® XBOX ONE 2X Smart Charger, black, with charging percentages shown on front,

The Xbox Charger was plugged in and was charging two different controllers. The charger overheated the back controller, which melted the battery charging plate on the controller to the controller itself. We were unable to remove the charging plate from the controller and the controller could no longer charge and therefore could no longer be used. I wasn’t aware until today that this has happened to other users - I received an email from Amazon about my purchase and the current news surrounding it.

Made Mar 14, 2017, sent to the company Mar 22, 2017, published by CPSC Apr 5, 2017

The product, in the report: Energizer® XBOX ONE 2X Smart Chargers. Single cradle with 2x rechargeable batteries.

Charged XBOX controller overnight on the evening of 3/11/2017. The next morning, the controller was hot to the touch, and the battery’s casing had melted. After allowing it to cool, I removed the battery and noted some damage inside the controller. Controller is still functional, but impact to its operational life is unknown at this time.

Received product safety notice from Amazon.com on 3/14.
