Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: MAHA MH-C401FS POWEREX Charger. This is a well made charger sold by a company in the United States The Numbers below the UL code are 00EG 1002 E230431 I have had this charger for several years, when I called the company It was not to try and get a new charger but to suggest that some sort of safety device is need (fusible link?) This is a good timer and I have ordered a new one just like it, but will put it on a timer before I ever use it

I put 4 rechargeable batteries in the charger, the red light came on per usual. After about 20 minutes I noticed a strong odor like hot wring can make, I picked up the charger , it was almost too hot to hold.

I tried to contact the manufacturer however they never bothered to return my phone call

If I hadn’t been home this would have caused a serious fire
