  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 15, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 7, 2011

The product, in the report: Kodak Class 2 Battery Charger ( Ni-MH Model K625) that came with Kodak Z981 digital camera, purchased 12/2010. Serial # listed below is on the camera. Camera and charger were sold as one unit.

Son was using Kodak Class 2 Battery Charger (Model K625) that came with his Kodak Z981 digital camera (purchased 12/2010). He noticed a burning smell, checked the charger and noticed that it had started to melt on the front of the unit, between the “front” and “back” display (between the two red lights). He immediately unplugged the charger and removed the batteries. We are very fortunate that he was in the same room when this happened so he could unplug the charger, as it could very easily have started a fire in our home if it had gone unnoticed.
