The product, in the report: [REDACTED] lithium battery pack for phone with kickstand, black
In December 2023, I recieved a phone battery pack() as a Christmas gift. I used it without issue until January 2025, when in burst into flames while charging at my workplace ([REDACTED]). It caught my clothing on fire, and I was able to pay myself out , unplug it from the power strip the charger it was plugged into, and blow out the fire so that it was only smoldering and not actively on fire. I evacuated with the rest of my lab, was checked out by emts on the scene, and did not immediately show any injuries, though my hands and face had soot from the fire on them, and gave a report to the fire Marshall, who collected my clothes as evidence, as well as the remains of the battery pack. I tried to show them The item from my Amazon wishlist, but it was no longer sold, and we could tell from the vendor name that it was some Chinese company that did not advertise its contact number to report the incident. Upon returning home, my hands, especially my right hand tingled the rest of the evening, I suspect from either a mild electric shock from unpluging the item, or from whatever was in the spot from the exploded lithium ion battery pack. My left eye was also sore and watering, so I repeatedly flushed it with water that day, and needed to reapply eye drops for 2 days afterward, and I suspect I had a bit of the soot in my eye. I have since been understandably traumatized and leary of anything containing a lithium battery, particularly while charging. Today, my father (who purchased the item as a gift for me) was emailed by Amazon that there was a recall for the product in question, and informed me I should report it here.

The product, in the report: ESR 10,000mAh Kickstand Wireless Power Bank with USB-C Cable
A portable MagSafe charger was being used to charge my [REDACTED]. I picked up my phone and noticed that the charger was hot and that the back of the charger was poking out. I attempted to push the back of the charger back in and stopped due to meeting resistance. I disconnected my phone from the charger and set it down about a foot away from me on the dining room table. About 30 seconds after setting the charger down it erupted into flames about 2 ft long and sprayed black materials on the floor and wall. A friend and I was sitting at the table at that time and had to jump to safety. I suffered cuts and scraped in the process since I was closer to the flames. We attempted to put out the fire but had ended up calling the fire department to remove the still burning charger and and the smoke from the space.
