The product, in the report: Dell alienware 240w laptop charger for a Alienware M16 R2 laptop
My Dell Alienware laptop charger (25 days past the 1 year warranty) fried itself, started sparking and smoking and within 10 seconds was too hot touch. I unplugged this asap and contacted dell.
I am lucky I was nearby the laptop when this happened. I worry this could have burned down my home if I was not.
I reached out to Dell multiple times and tried to escalate this to see if they would replace the charger in good faith which was refused. I also asked if they wanted the damaged charger returned to them for inspection so they could prevent this from happening in the future and they said they were not interested and that the chargers are safe. They refused to accept this as a safety concern and said there are no issues. A quick search found MANY other complaints about these chargers exploding, catching fire, melting, ect.
