The product, in the report: CableMod 12VHPWR 180 Degree Angled Adapter used to connect a power supply cable to an [REDACTED] graphics card. The adapter is a small angled GPU power connector accessory designed for [REDACTED]-series graphics cards using the 12VHPWR connector. It was installed between the PSU power cable and the power connector on my [REDACTED] graphics card.
I was using a CableMod 180 12VHPWR angled adapter with my [REDACTED] graphics card. The system had been operating normally and was connected to a 1200 W power supply. I later discovered this adapter was subject to a CPSC recall for loosening, overheating, and melting into GPUs.
The adapter/GPU power connector burned or melted during use. The computer rebooted after the incident, and I immediately shut the system off and have not powered it back on. The GPU power connector now appears damaged/burned. I am reporting this as a safety-related product failure and property damage involving a recalled product.
