The product, in the report: Energizer 2X Smart Charger for Xbox One

Smelled a burning smell in our home, quickly identified as the Energizer 2X Smart Charger for Xbox One controller that was plugged in and charging the controllers after use. We unplugged the charging station from the wall, one rechargeable battery in one controller was scorching hot, swollen and split the casing it was in and melted the Xbox One controller. Pictures are available upon request, fortunately we were home and quickly located and avoided a fire and/or very bad situation. Numbers on back of unit read 3816WCA, Energizer XBOX ONE Charge System, 048-052.
