The product, in the report: Wobblelight 500 Watt Halogen work light. Serial number and model of light was rendered unrecognizable in the fire. However, identical models were readily available on the work site, and details are provided for those identical models below.
A fire occured involving a Wobblelight 500 Halogen work light [REDACTED]. The cause was determined to be failure of the internal cooling fan, which caused temperatures to rise within the fan to at or near the autoignition temperature of the light. The light melted and caught fire (unsure which order), causing a small fire at the facility. This potential was demonstrated by field testing of a similar light by disconnecting the internal cooling fan and observing a rapid and precipitous internal temperature rise to over 720F in under 3 minutes when the test was halted for safety.
