The product, in the report: Ryobi cordless drill model number SA1802
When using a Ryobi power drill, model # SA1802, serial number G0443 81631, the unit began to spark and emit large amounts of smoke. At the time, it was only being used to replace screws in an existing hole, so it was not under a great load. What appears to be an identical model listed as [REDACTED] is the subject of an existing recall per [REDACTED]. The unit in question was part of a kit of tools and appears to be subject to the same failure. Ryobi declined to address the issue as the model number is different.
