The product, in the report: Cordless power drill, gray and black
I was using a Speedway Series drill to install a deadbolt in my back door. While I was using the Philips head bit to screw in the deadbolt’s screws, the battery pack of the drill exploded! There was aloud POP (so loud my ears were ringing for 20 minutes) and shards of plastic flew everywhere. The cylindrical battery components were smoking and one of them was on fire. Luckily, I was not hurt, but me and my wife were very startled. I have a photo of the exploded drill I can provide. When I contacted the manufacturer, they were not helpful and indicated they had no plans to investigate or address the situation.
