How badly anyone was hurt

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jul 21, 2024, sent to the company Jul 24, 2024, published by CPSC Aug 14, 2024

The product, in the report: YUKON, 60 in., 3 Drawer Hardwood Workbench provides over 1200 sq. in. of work space for a wide variety of woodworking projects. This workbench has a hardwood top with 4 anvil pegs and 4 wood pegs for securing work pieces. The 7 in. wood block vise holds work pieces without marring. Three felt-lined drawers, one full width, provide easy storage and organization for tools and hardware. Height 34-1/8 in. Length 64-3/8 in. Weight 104 lb. Width 20-1/8 in

I recently have a small space to build a work shop and picked up a table kit from Harbor Freight SKU: 58832. The safety issue I have with this is the drawers are set back from the lip of the table and since the drawer slides require a bit of force to pull them open. If you have any fingers above the top of the handle you will crush your fingers between the drawer and the underside of the lip of the table. I did so and smashed my nail hard enough to leave a painful hematoma under my thumb nail. I also asked someone else to try them and they did the same thing their finger. I think this is a flaw in the design and that the drawers should come all the way out to the end of the table so you can’t get fingers caught in the drawer/table lip.
