The product, in the report: Pole saw
Caller is reporting that he experienced similar problems as recall [REDACTED] Hazard: The telescoping poles of the pole saw/pruner can separate, causing the poles to come apart and fall down and the saw blade and pruner head to drop, posing a laceration hazard.
Caller stated that while someone using the unit the upper portion became loose from the lower portion because the lock mechanism did not hold causing the blade to fall down to the tree and injured the person that was using it.
The manufacturer was contacted and he was informed that they did not have a recall for the 12 or 14 foot units and when he enquire they could not tell him why.
Caller feels that these poles should be recalled as well due to the safety hazard they present.

The product, in the report: Fiskars Chain Drive 7–16 Foot Extendable Pole Saw & Pruner (394631-1001),White
First time I used product, correctly, the blade broke. I reported to manufacturer through website to get a replacement, but Fiskars never got back to me. Subsequently, the product was recalled for a DIFFERENT reason (handle comes apart) via an email from amazon that I received. I had to then apply for the recall refund. This blade that broke could be on their other tools. It broke and fell towards me, could have put my eye out etc. Product is a two-time loser. Frustratingly, I can’t give feedback on amazon as they have taken the product away. Noone can see its a bad product which would certainly reflect on my purchasing something from Fiskars if I saw it on amazon. I’m actually surprised amazon would do this. Fiskars has a bad name now for my household.
