The product, in the report: 10 In., 15 Amp Compact Job Site Table Saw by Harbor Freight, sold under the Hercules brand
While using a jobsite table saw for dado groove cutting in a 1x2 piece of wood for a cabinet drawer I was making, the workpiece moved unexpectedly and shot back at me, pulling my left hand’s thumb interior and ring finger nail area into the blade.
I rushed to a local urgent care and was given 9 stitches on the thumb and 3 on the ring finger. I was not using the kickback device as the workpiece was too small (approx 6” long), and the cut I was attempted prevented me from using the provided plastic push stick (again, too small workpiece).
I had purchased this saw with knowledge of the SawStop technology which would have prevented this injury, but with it’s cost of $1300 vs the $279 for my saw, the cost difference was the deciding factor.. and assumption I could use the basic saw safely.
