The product, in the report: Craftsman Table Saw model 137.415030
I own a Craftsman table saw model 137.415030 and the stand collapsed twice while being used. After the second time, I quit using the stand that came with the saw because I knew it was not safe for me. This was around March 2019. I learned yesterday that there was a recall on the stand that came with this table saw. I am working to get it replaced.
I suffered no injuries from the stand falling, but it would be easy for someone to get injured. I have contacted the manufacturer via the phone number listed on recall notice 17-105, but I have not yet received a return call (it has only been a few minutes).

The product, in the report: Craftsman 15 Amp 10-IN Table Saw
While using the Craftsman Table Saw (Model Number 137415030) I was cutting a length of oak wood weighing approximately four pounds when the stand suffered a partial failure on the left side, dropping downward and tipping the surface of the table saw at about a 30-degree angle. When I felt the stand begin to give way, I released the piece I was working on and moved away quickly. I suffered some impact injuries to my left arm and shoulder as the part was flung back at me by the blade. I then turned the unit off, treated my injuries, and have avoided using the saw since.

While cutting a pine board, the stand collapsed and the end of the table saw fell on the floor. The saw continued to cut and threw a piece of wood across the garage. No injuries were sustained, but since this incident the saw blade has a 2 mm wobble. I’ve tried other blades with the same results, and I have been told that something has been knocked out of adjustment. I have contacted Sears trying to find a service center here in the [REDACTED] area, but on two occasions the connection was dropped. Request your assistance in replacing the stand and having the table saw adjusted or replaced here in [REDACTED]. I purchased the table saw in [REDACTED] in July 2016

The product, in the report: Craftsman branded 10” Portable Table Saw with Fold and Roll Stand, model 137.415030. Width (in.):37 Depth (in.):24 Height (in.):40 Table Height From Floor (In):34 Table Dimensions (LxW):23” x 19-1/2” Table Dimensions with Extensions:38-1/2” x 19-1/2”
This Craftsman branded table saw and foldable rolling stand (model 137.415030) is designed to collapse for ease of portability and storage. The table saw was placed on a level concrete surface and set upright. A rip cut fence was installed on the right hand position and the extension arm was extended to the 28 inch mark to the right. While cutting a table top approximately 2ft x 3ft, the table saw stand failed and the table saw returned to a collapsed position, entrapping the operator under the saw. While the saw was in this unsafe position, the saw blade continued to be in motion resulting in the risk of laceration injury or loss of limb to the operator.

The product, in the report: Portable Table Saw
02/10/2015 - The consumer was cutting wood with his table saw, WHen he tried to shut the off switch off it would not turn off. He jiggled the button a couple of times to see if it may have been stuck, but it would not budge and even though it was in the shut-off position, it would not turn off. After approximately thirty seconds of trying to shut off the unit, the consumer had to balance the wood he had in his hands as well as the unit and go behind it in oder to turn unplug the unit. This was the only way to cut the power off the table saw.
The consumer indicates that the table saw ran approximately for two minutes before he tried turning it off unsuccessfully.
The consumer indicates that a similar issue has occurred repeatedly in the past, starting approximately two years after it was gifted to him. The consumer tried shutting off the unit but it would not shut off. However, after a couple of tries, the table saw would shut off, normally within forty-five seconds. This would be the first time the consumer was unable to turn off the unit before having to unplug it.
The consumer contacted Craftsman. After explaining the situation, the representative informed the consumer that they had not heard issues similar to this in the past. The consumer proceeded to contact Sears and again, after explaining the situation, the representative informed him they could not provide assistance to him and had yet to receive complaints of the same sort regarding his unit.
The consumer indicates that he searched online and came upon numerous reports regarding his same unit model having the same issue.
The consumer has no injuries to report. The consumer believes this product poses a safety hazard.

The product, in the report: Craftsman Model 315.218050; Switch 089110101701
The Craftsman 10 inch Table Saw, MODEL 315.218050 failed while in use.. This is a home saw, and not used professionally. I feel the failure was dangerous and that the switch is defective. The switch is part 089110101701 and on replacement appeared to be cheaply made.
The issue is that the switch failed while in the on position preventing me from turning off the saw. I had to go pull out the plug while the saw remained running. This is dangerous. The switch appeared to be cheaply made.
On an item such as a saw, any failure should shut the system down.

The product, in the report: Craftsman 10-in Table Saw Model Number 315.218050
Craftsman (Sears, Roebuck and Co.) 10-in Table Saw Model Number 315.218050 power switch failed while operating under normal conditions (cutting wood). Switch failed in the closed position (power-on) which allows the saw to run until the unit is physically unplugged from the outlet. The power switch can be moved from the on-off position and the power will remain on. Removing the safety pin does not stop the unit from running. This means that even with the safety pin removed, the saw can be plugged in and operated. This is a serious cause for concern with young children in the house.
No injuries were sustained but this appears to have the potential for a serious injury to someone using the saw who may need to turn it off in a hurry. This may be an issues as indicated above with children in the house if the switch were to fail with a curious child playing with the power switch (even with the safety pin removed).

The product, in the report: Craftsman 10 in. table saw, 15 amp motor
Switch failed repeatedly. The first time the switch failed, I dismantled it and was able to put it back together so that it worked. I noted that the switch was poorly designed, and poorly built. Further, the switch was designed in such a fashion that when the switch failed, the saw would be on, rather than off, which is a major error.
The second time it failed I ordered a replacement switch from Craftsman. I noted that the replacement switch had the same design as the original. The second switch failed within several uses. I did not replace the switch again, and now use the saw by plugging it in to run, and unplugging it to stop it. Obviously this makes the saw more dangerous, and is very inconvenient.

The product, in the report: Sears Craftsman model 21833 Table Saw
I bought a Sears Craftsman model 21833 table saw in 2010. Many of these saws, including mine, have a manufacturing defect (widely reported on woodworking web sites) that causes the blade to become significantly misaligned when the blade height is raised or lowered. This is a serious safety problem because it can cause kickback, Kickback is an event in which the work piece is lifted by the back of the blade and thrown forward with great speed and force. In addition, it can cause the user’s hand to be drawn into the blade, causing very serious injuries, including severed fingers.
Normally, there is a process that can be used to align the blade so that it is parallel to the saw’s miter slot and rip fence. However, this process is only effective if the blade height is never changed, which is totally unrealistic. The problem is that the trunnions were not machined correctly, so no matter how many times the adjustment procedure is performed, the underlying problem is never corrected.
I have not been injured, but there have been times when the wood I was cutting became bound against the rip fence, even after the rip fence was properly aligned. It is a serious safety issue and I would appreciate your investigating it.
Thank you.

The product, in the report: The saw is a 10” craftsman table saw
The saw is a 10” craftsman table saw, model #137.218072 Serial # RPV3009. This saw was purchased in January of 2012 and used only a handful of times prior to this accident. The saw is sold by sears as a craftsman saw, however is made by Rexon Manufacturing in Taiwan. During the normal course of ripping a board in half, I placed the board on the table top and while doing so placed both of my hands on the saws table top and it shocked me badly. The shock knocked me to the floor and either the shock itself or my hitting my head on a concrete floor in my garage rendered my unconscious for a period of time. I contacted Sears who advised me that they could do nothing about the saw and referred me to Rexon manufacturing. Rexon had an attorney, (a third party claims administrator in the US) contact me via email however offered to do nothing about the serious malfunction of this saw. At my request, Rexon did arrange for an engineer to come to my home to “check out the saw”. I requested this as no other action appeared to be taking place. The engineer came to my home and did not check anything on the saw but instead only checked the wiring in my home and the outlet that supplied the saw to determine if the shock was the fault of my homes wiring. This accident occurred nearly 4 months ago and no action has occurred to remedy this malfunction, replace the saw, investigate the cause, or determine if this is a widespread problem with its. To date, the saw is still in my garage and I do not even receive follow up email from Rexon’s claim administrator. I have since been diagnosed with sensorneural hearing loss in both of my ears and tinnittus resulting from severe shock/trauma caused by the accident. This product, for one reason or another, is a massive safety concern for anyone using it. Aside from being shocked, I could have just as easily been thrown into the cutting blade of this saw injuring me much worse than I was.

The product, in the report: Craftsman 10 in. Table Saw Model # 315.218050
The ON/OFF switch on my Craftsman Table Saw model 315.218050 has failed for a second time. The switch allows the saw to be turned on, but not off. I consider this a safety hazard in that I am unable to stop the blade from spinning which could be catastrophic in the event of an emergency. The only way to stop the blade is to disconnect the power switch from the source, an inconvience in that the power cord plugin is remotely located from the saw itelf. Each time this has happened I have had to order a replacement switch from Sears. This same switch appears to be common amongst numerous other similar Craftsman power tools. The fact that two have failed on my seldom-used power saw suggests there may be numerous similar incidents. The Customer Service representative from whom I ordered the second switch provided me with a telephone number for their customer complaints. When I called the number, the recording said the phonemail box was full. A call to the Sears Customer Help Line provided a different telephone number. The response (phonemail message) from that number was that the office was closed and to call back later. This call took place at approximately 11:30 AM Eastern.

The product, in the report: Sears Craftsman 10” Table Saw, mode; #315.284620
The product is the Sears Craftsman 10” table saw, model #315.284620.The incident occurred while changing the blade on the saw for the first time. As instructed, I checked the bevel locking lever to make sure it was secure. This was the first time I had touched it. When I released the lever I heard a snapping sound and the blade immediately swung to the left. The plastic washer that serves as the locking device for the lever had snapped cleanly in two. Had I been operating the saw at the time, pushing a piece of wood through the blade, I could easily have been seriously injured, either by the blade running in to my hand or by the piece being cut jamming and/or flying in to the air. I believe this is a serious safety hazard.

The product, in the report: 10” Table Saw for home use.
The Sears Craftsman 10” Table Saw, model number 315.28462, has a plastic pad, part number: 089037008040, that provide pressure to hold the blade angle once it is set. The very first time I set an angle on the plade the plastic broke and fell away from the machine, allowing the blade to swing freely throughout the range of angles.

No one hurt Made Nov 5, 2011, sent to the company Nov 16, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 1, 2011
The product, in the report: Craftsman 10 Inch table saw..Model No. 315.284620
Purchased a Craftsman 10 inch Table Saw Model No. 315.284620. The saw has a plastic pad that is used to change the Blade Angle. The pad cracked when I was moving the blade to a 10 degree cut. With the loss of the pressure pad the saw would not hold an angle and as a result the blade moves freely. If a person is feeding wood into the blade when the pad cracks there is the potential for injury. The saw is under warranty and I am contacting Sears to see what can be done. The pad is plastic and probably should be made out of metal. The part number is 089037008040.

The product, in the report: Sears Craftsman 10” Table Saw Model # 315.218060 S/N: X053004105
Sears Craftsman 10” table saw will not turn off. Had to pull the plug to stop the motor. Tried again the next day and the motor started up when I plugged it in. I noticed other consumers here had the same problem, so I am adding my 2 cents.
