On September 12, 2025, I sustained a 3/8 cut on my finger while using the Masterforce Quick Change Folding Carpet Knife (Model MF90823, SKU 2375567), purchased from the Menards Evergreen Park, IL store on September 1, 2025.

The injury occurred when I reached into my pocket and the exposed blade of the folded knife cut me. Unlike other utility knives I own, this model does not have a guard that fully covers the blade when folded, despite being advertised as having a Safety lock-back system. The exposed blade creates a serious hazard for anyone carrying or handling the knife. The cut was painful, required healing time, and has prevented me from safely carrying or using the knife since the incident.

I previously reported this to Menards on September 15 and received only a brief acknowledgment. Despite a follow-up on September 17, I have not received further communication.
