    Product : Rockwell VersaCut 4 1/2 saw

Saw blade detached from spindle while cutting approx 1/2” thick crown molding. The blade detachment was caused by a sheared blade lock bolt.

The product, in the report: Rockwell 41/2” compact power circular saw

Recent purchase of a Rockwell 4 1/2 inch power circular handsaw, the blade mounting bolt snapped in two after less than 1 foot of cutting a 1 “ thick piece of wood from a brand new saw. The assembly was per instruction and I am skilled with this type of equipment. The broken bolt head flew off at high speed and the spinning blade fell. Fortunately I was not hurt but when I researched this device on Amazon, several other consumers have had the same problem. This is a potential for catastrophic injury and no doubt a common flaw.
