The product, in the report: Husky 25 Gallon Air Compressor. Model Y6010-WK Serial # 2316104756 Color - Red

I was using my Husky air compressor model number Y6010-WK (ser # 2316104756) and it started emanating a burning electrical smell. You could see sparks under the plastic shroud. I looked online for what issues other people are having and I came across your website with the recall. I have had this compressor for many years, but only use it very intermittently. I purchased the unit from Home Depot. I tried to click on the link www.devap.com but it does not work. What recourse, if any, do I have with getting this repaired or replaced>

    Thank You.

The product, in the report: 16-Piece Air Compressor Kit. Home Depot Model # 41250HOM Internet # 205331894 Store SKU # 1000386935 Notes: I can only keep this product 10 more days - other wise I can’t get my money back.

16-Piece Air Compressor Kit purchased at Home Depot. Model # 41250HOM Internet # 205331894 Store SKU # 1000386935

The plastic nylon hose in this kit shatters when the temperature drops below freezing. This is dangerous. The hose has a printed rated of 200 psi on it. This product is not safe to use. I had stored this hose in the back of my covered pickup truck, and the temperature over night dropped to 8 degrees. Found the hose in pieces the next day. I also tried posting a review online at the Home Depot web site saying that this product should not be used in below freezing temps. They rejected my multiple reviews. They would rather sell this dangerous product than post unfavorable reviews. This hose (which is in a compressor kit) should either be labeled “Not to be used in cold weather” or recalled as unsafe.

Made Nov 20, 2015, sent to the company Feb 10, 2016, published by CPSC Feb 25, 2016

The product, in the report: Air compressor

Consumer stated that the specification 1.6 HP rated at 15 amps for the air compressor is on the manual and on the advertisement, however on the unit itself it stated 2 HP, which does not operate at the advertised rate causing the unit to pull more electric power than it should this poses a fire hazard.

While starting up the motor it pulled too many amps causing it to cease up and then the wiring started to emit smoke.

(10/30) Consumer contacted Husky and they informed him that they were unable to assist him, although he explained the problem to them. He contacted them a few days later and they advised him to return the unit.

I have a Husky Air Scout Air Compressor Model 41001. I was using the compressor and the knob that adjusts the air pressure blew off like a bullet. The metal separated and ripped apart. It looks like metal fatigue. I looked and the safety valve was still intact.

Contacted Home Depot HQ and they did not seemed concerned. This blew off at such velocity it could have hurt me badly as it is about 1.5 inches around.

The product, in the report: Husky upright air compressor model # 835 522 quiet series red in color 30 gallon 1.5 hp.

I have a Husky 30 gallon upright air compressor model # 835 522. I had just turned the unit on and was unrolling the air line to fill a tire. Came back into barn to get air chuck and the unit was still running but was blowing flames out of the vent holes around the motor and compressor. I unplugged the unit and the fire went out. I am checking with Home Depot about possible warranty before I dismantle and examine unit for ignition source and cause of fire. No injuries or property damage.

The product, in the report: Air Compressor

Plastic wheel explosion on Husky Air Compressor 417 270, VLH1582609.01, 200-2609. These are the numbers on the compressor, I’m not sure what they mean but I can Google them and they pull up my compressor. Serial # E24212375. I have looked for hours trying to find a recall on this item and have failed to find one. This is a concern to me because of my Pressure washer also had plastic wheels of the exact type and size and one of them exploded in my garage shooting shrapnel everywhere. Luckily nobody was around it when it happened. The manufacturer of the Pressure washer replaced my tires and wheels on the pressure washer with solid tires and wheels. I strongly feel that the compressor tire and wheels should also be replaced before someone gets hurt badly.

Made May 18, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 10, 2011

The product, in the report: Husky 6 Gallon Portable Compressor - manufactured by Balma Air Compressors in Shanghai , China

Husky 6 Gallon Portable Compressor approximately 3 years old. Very light residential use. On or about April 28 2011 I turned plugged it in and turned it on to allow the tank to fill with air. After a few minutes the compressor started to slow down (could tell by the sound) and smoke and flames shot out the end of the plastic shroud the covers the electric motor. I immediately turned it off and then called the manufacturer’s tech support at 866-242-4298. Spoke to [REDACTED]. Her only suggestion was to take it to a local repair shop. I realize this is out of warranty but I think someone should still be concerned about the fire hazard this presents. If I had let it run in my garage and gone to do something else while I was letting the tank fill up it could very easily have cause a fire in the garage, which is attached to the house.
