The product, in the report: Campbell Hausfeld Oiless Compressor 8 Gallon #DC080100 Purchased new, Walmart, March 30 2019.
08-14-2022 Catastrophic failure of air regulator. Campbell Hausfeld Oiless Compressor #DC080100 Purchased new, Walmart, March 30 2019. Used once or twice a month, [REDACTED], inflate car and bike tires. On Aug 14, 2022, turn on compressor, takes about 2 minutes to pressurize tank to 140psi. Auto shut off at factory pre-set pressure of 140 psi. Attached air hose and tire inflator. Turned my back to get bicycle and heard the sound of what I thought was the air hose coming lose. I heard something hitting the back wall of my garage. I checked the compressure and noticed the knob for the air regulator was missing. Upon close inspection, I noticed part of the air regulator housing had sheared off, where it is attached inside of the plus/minus knob. Upon 20/20 hindsight, I had noticed the tank would lose pressure over a period of days/weeks. This valve may have been defective from day 1.
I have since replace the air regulator with one from [REDACTED]. I no longer have a slow leak of air pressure.”

The product, in the report: Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor Model HL421000
The consumer uses the air compressor sparingly. Some time ago, he noticed that it was not building up pressure.
The lack of pressure from the machine was slow at first and became worse over time.
7/1/2020: The consumer called the firm and ordered a part for it. He ordered a T-fitting valve and installed it himself, but this did not solve the problem. Their tech. advised him to purchase that part.
The consumer followed up with the firm 2 or 3 times afterwards to see if he could get assistance with solving the problem. The consumer then tried calling the firm a couple more times, but it was difficult to get a live rep.
The consumer’s air compressor appears to be included in recall# 08-181 and he will contact the firm regarding this.
9/29/2020: He called the firm and spoke with [REDACTED], who referred him to another number ([REDACTED]). When he dialed that number, a message said the number was not working in his area.
He also tried calling the firm at 800-241-0448. He dialed 9 for the extension. When he pressed that extension, the call simply hung up.
NOTE: The CPSC Hotline Rep., tried that number. The 1st Time it went through, but the 2nd time it said the number is not available from the Hotline’s calling area.
