No one hurt Made Mar 19, 2023, sent to the company Mar 23, 2023, published by CPSC Apr 7, 2023
The product, in the report: From Amazon URL: [REDACTED] “BIG RED TRA8335B Torin 33” Ratcheting Off Road Utility Farm Jack, 3 Ton (6,000 lb) Capacity, Red”
I bought a Big Red Jack TRA8335B, a few months ago from Amazon ([REDACTED]), and opened its box recently to use the jack. However, testing prior to use shows that the release mechanism for the jack does not engage the ratcheting mechanism for controlling safe reversal under load. Instead, the entire load is dropped when the reversal latch is thrown. Imagine loading this jack to anywhere near to its 3-ton capacity, only to find that the jack drops its load instantly whenever the reversal mechanism is thrown! Other reviewers on Amazon had a similar issue. For example, one reviewer said on [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Torin (TM) Big Red 1500lb ATV/Motorcycle Jack, red in color
The product was purchased to be able to lift a ATV ([REDACTED]). The safety stops on the jack were not high enough to stop the stop bar, but did not even connect with the stops on the right side.
