The product, in the report: Hi-Lift jack, red in color.

The 75 year old male was performing maintenance on his [REDACTED] lawn mower. He was using a Hi-Lift jack to prop the lawn mower up to work on the front left wheel area. At some point during the maintenance, the jack fell out of place, causing the front left axle of the lawn mower to land on the decedent’s chest. The incident was unwitnessed and it was unknown what caused the jack to fall. It was possibly raining at the time of the incident. The decedent’s wife went to check on him and found him deceased with the lawn mower axle on his chest. Fire and police department personnel responded and briefly attempted resuscitation. A deputy medical examiner responded to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. After an autopsy was performed by the medical examiner’s office, the cause of death was certified as “Traumatic asphyxia. Other Significant Conditions: Emphysema and valvular and arteriosclerotic heart disease.” The manner was “Accident.” The accident type was listed as “working under riding lawnmower ([REDACTED]), mower fell on him.”
